Living Heritage is Herencia Viva and together we are making an impact!

Shortly before the pandemic, a group of people across the US began to meet and dream together. We had each collaborated with Fundación Herencia Viva across a decade and believed whole-heartedly in their community-organization model of service to the vulnerable and marginalized ways that respect their autonomy and agency.  We wanted to do more to help sustain their work in micro-lending, school scholarships, social enterprising, clean water and healthy living conditions, to support their work of social justice and gender equity. And so, while the pandemic raged on, we founded a 501c3 organization in the US to underwrite much of the ministry of Herencia Viva and we are ready to tell the world! 

We have a dream that every family in Guatemala will be able to promote their own development and well-being with dignity and sustainability. Our activities are centered around securing resources to be utilized in remote communities where vulnerable families are identifying and prioritizing their needs so their common work can benefit their communities.
